With the summer holidays fast approaching and the UK weather seemingly relentless in its coldness, it's no wonder so many british holidaymakers are already heading for the sun in Croatia.
Already holidays in Croatia are seeing an uprise in numbers at this time of year compared with previous years and this is a trend that will continue throughout 2013 based on current booking levels.
For the most part, tourists are looking at spending a holiday at a luxury hotel somewhere in the region, although the Croatian Times reports that the sailing in Croatia has already started a new season.
Sailing holidays in Croatia
According to the online publisher; Lagoon, a yachting club based in Split, has opened the sailing season with a second regatta of more than 100 catamarans sailing from Solta to Hvar - 2 of the most popular holiday destinations in the country.
Many celebrities have choasen to take a cruising or sailing holiday in the country - a fact that has been documented on this blog before. For some people it is one of the best ways to explore a country with so much coastline as well as the more than 1000 (in some cases secluded) islands it has to offer.
Of course, 2013 is going to be one of the busiest years so far in the Croatia tourist calendar, with so much press coverage, the country is fast becoming one of the 'must see' destinations of the future, with many low cost airlines now offering regular flights from the UK.
